Define Success – Part 2

Define Success – Part 2

I can give you ideas.
I can point you in the right direction.
I can share with you a list of things to do or not do.
But ultimately the answers for you are something you will have discover on your own.

I can only offer you guidelines.
So think deeply and define success for yourself.
Because if you don’t then somebody else will do it for you.

The second principle of defining success for yourself is understanding that the law successful goal setting has it’s own life cycle. When you set a goal you create something that takes on a life of it’s own. It becomes a living entity that needs to be fed so it can continue to develop.

Whatever you feed grows and whatever you starve dies.
So feed the life that you’ve created with the right course of action on a daily basis.
It’s the consistent work over a long period of time that achieves results.
If you’re not getting the results you want then you need to reexamine your actions.

If what you’ve created doesn’t get the right kind of food then it can become anorexic or obese. It’s anorexic if it doesn’t get enough food and it becomes obese if it get too much of the wrong type.
The lack of action or too many of the wrong actions can starve our dreams to death.
Eventually we may just give up and never dream again.
Unfortunately many of us do just that.

People around you may come against you in one way or another.
There are those who love to tear others down rather than build them up.
They are usually negative, bitter, and self absorbed.
They may not have your best interest at heart.
Does anyone come to mind?

Find at least one other person who will support you.
Share with them and be open minded to their input.
They could say just one thing that could change your entire direction.

How will you define success for yourself?
What do you dream about?
Even if you just have an idea it’s your baby.
What kind of baby are you going to create?
