Define Success – Part 3
Success leaves clues.
It models it’s wisdom and beauty everywhere.
These models are as far as the ends of the universe and as close as your DNA.
Success is the byproduct of these unseen forces.
The third principle for defining success for yourself is that the law successful goal setting is driven by the law of action and reaction.
You reap what you sow.
You do something and something follows.
Take the law of gravity for example.
As we all know whatever goes up must come down.
The law of gravity can’t be broken.
Birds don’t break the law, rather they use it to soar above the clouds.
They unknowingly cooperate with the law and spread their wings and fly away.
If you jump from an airplane and you don’t have a parachute, then time is short for you. You won’t be able to simply ignore the law of gravity or it’s effects. Your actions put in motion a natural set of consequences.
Now let’s say you packed a parachute and you put it on before you jumped. And then at the right time it opened and you landed safely. You obviously took the right action to bring about a desirable reaction. Staying alive!
You choose an action but the reaction is it’s natural effect. It’s something that is set in motion and going in the direction of it’s natural course. For every cause there’s an effect. For every action there is a reaction. Once you’re falling you’re falling.
The process by which the actions are set in motion have consequences. Each of those consequences are working together to achieve a common goal. If any of the steps were neglected then the whole process breaks down and we’d never reach our goal.
So what does all this have to do with defining success for yourself?
Success is about reaching your goals. Make them clear and plan each step.
Goals take on a life of their own. Feed them well.
Examine your actions and choose the ones with the results you desire.
There is no magic formula to guarantee success.
Model those who have gone before you. Find how they think.
Work everyday no matter how little it is and one day you’ll reach your goals.
